How it works

From first call to finished job

  1. Step 1

    Share your project

Driveway, patio, slab or repair: tell us the rough size, the finish you have in mind and your address. Photos of the area help.

  2. Step 2

    Measure and plan

The area is measured and checked for slope, drainage, access for the concrete truck and any old concrete that has to come out.

  3. Step 3

    A clear quote

You get a quote that spells out the size, thickness, base, reinforcement, finish and removal of old concrete, so you know what's included.

  4. Step 4

    Prep, pour and cure

The ground is excavated, the base compacted and the forms set, then the concrete is poured, finished and jointed. You'll know how long to wait before walking or driving on it.

What's included

Driveway: what we handle

  • Signs it's time: Wide or spreading cracks, sunken or heaved sections, a crumbling surface, and water pooling on the driveway or running toward the garage.
  • Tear-out and haul-away: Old asphalt, concrete or gravel removed and hauled off before the new work begins.
  • Base and grading: A compacted gravel base and a slope that sends water away from your home.
  • Thickness and reinforcement: Typically 4 inches for cars, thicker where trucks, RVs or heavy loads will park, with rebar or wire mesh as the job calls for.
  • Finish options: Broom finish for traction, or exposed aggregate, color and stamped borders for a dressier look.
  • Extensions and aprons: Extra parking pads, side extensions and the apron where the driveway meets the street.

FAQ

Driveway: common questions

How long does a concrete driveway last?

A well-built concrete driveway commonly lasts 25 to 30 years or more. The base preparation, thickness, drainage, climate and how soon cracks are sealed all play a part.

When can I drive on my new driveway?

Walking on it is usually fine after a day or two. Cars should wait about a week, and heavy vehicles such as trucks or RVs longer. Curing slows down in cold weather, so allow extra time.

Concrete or asphalt for a driveway?

Asphalt usually costs less to install but needs sealcoating every few years and wears faster. Concrete costs more up front, lasts longer with less upkeep and takes decorative finishes. In cold climates, de-icing salts are hard on concrete, so sealing it matters more.
